Ms Indranee Thurai Rajah: Aspirations for Generation Next
Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Law and Education (29 Oct 2014)

About the Talk

The recommendations of the ASPIRE Committee hit the headlines last month.  It drew a spectrum of responses - on one end were those who praised it for being the most definitive step thus far in leveling the educational playing field, and on the other end were those who say this will be just window-dressing as the elitist orientation favoring the academic track is too deeply entrenched.

Indranee Rajah, as chairperson of the ASPIRE Committee, has been steadfast in her defence of the Report arguing for the need to walk-the-talk in redefining success. For her, the time for changing mindsets is now! Coming from a humble background in life, and serving for several years as MP in one of the poorest constituencies in Singapore, as well as President of SINDA (Singapore Indian Development Association), income distribution, education as a social leveler, and dignity as a right for everyone in society are issues close to her heart.

Join the Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Education, as she explores the challenges in truly meeting the desired outcomes of the ASPIRE Committee recommendations.
