About the Speaker

Janet Ang was appointed Managing Director of IBM Singapore in July 2011. In this role, she is responsible for the operations of IBM Singapore, including all product and services division, as well as the company's sales and distribution business.

She was previously the Vice President (VP), Strategic Services, IBM Greater China Group (GCG), and VP, Infrastructure Technology Services, IBM GCG.

From May 2005 to January 2009, Janet was a VP with Lenovo Group. In her role as VP, Strategy & Business Operations, Global Desktop Business Unit, she led the successful transition and integration of the IBM PCD GCG to Lenovo China, followed by the successful integration and turnaround of Lenovo’s desktop business.

Before Lenovo, Janet was with IBM for 23 years. During her tenure with IBM, she was VP, Personal Systems Group, IBM GCG in 2004; Managing Director, IBM Singapore from 2001 to 2003; Director, AP Sales Operations from 1999 to 2001; and an international assignee to IBM Asia Pacific assuming the role of Director, Marketing, SMB, based in Tokyo, Japan from 1998 to 1999.

Janet serves on various boards and committees including the Board of Trustees of the International School of Beijing, Singapore Chamber of Commerce in China (SingCham), Singapore Computer Society, International Women’s Forum (Singapore Chapter) and Business China (Singapore).

She is married to Anthony Cheah, and they have four lovely daughters.
